On May 21 Council Member Jumaane D. Williams (D-Brooklyn), Deputy Leader and co-chair of the Council's Taskforce to Combat Gun Violence, will sponsor the 6th Annual Not In My Hood March, where elected officials, violence interrupters and community leaders will rally against gun violence and raise awareness on intervention practices.
The anti-gun violence march will allow community leaders to speak out against recent incidents of shooting in the community and the epidemic of gun violence in the country.
